The days are getting longer, primroses, cyclamen, are flowering and the daffodils and tulips are bursting to show their colours. Pear, plum and apple trees are secure in the ground, to be trained as espalier. Dahlias, Gladioli, iris, anemone, allium are placed in the ground to create colour on the allotment and at home in the vase. Granny is planting some blueberry, and grandpa is fixing the trestles to be used in the spring for shelves to hold seed trays. Grandpas hand is recovering from surgery and the task is difficult but helps him in is recuperation to regain strength and dexterity in his hand. We all feel a sense of hope and some excitement for the future, in three years my fruit trees should start fruiting and in five they will be established and provide a lovely feature. Flowers brighten the dreary and dark days, inviting our insect friends with sweet scents. This world seems crazier the more I experience life, it’s good to find some hope.
