The UK is seeing declining living standards, this has really challenged my political views. Recently I cut the hedge at my allotment, and there was a lot of controversy regarding boundaries. Do we really own land? Civilizations come and go and nature hides the ruins. When working on my allotment I meditate on letting go of the desire to ‘own’ land, businesses, resources, knowledge etc. Jon Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ is a powerful song, imagine if there were no borders, governments, religion… If we shared with nature and each other I have a suspicion that we would tap into unlimited knowledge and spirituality.

We had a good spell of weather early in April so we have repaired all our water butts, free water!

I spent an nice sunny day potting on the seedlings. Next year I will sow my runner beans later in the season, mine are getting huge and it’s still a bit soon to plant them out. My shed is slowly taking shape, I have an assortment of hand tools collected at recycling station, it’s surprising how much DIY there is to do growing plants.
