Sorry solves it all?

“Sometimes the hardest words are the ones we never hear.”

For me, this song has always been about the quiet ache of wanting closeness. In this rendition, I’m expressing the feeling of people drifting far away, and how apologies sometimes fall short of healing what’s been broken inside.

This song has always expressed to me the desire to love, and to be loved. Over the years it has taken on a deeper meaning, and this rendition carries my frustration and sadness that there are people I wish were not so far away from me.

Some people hide behind the word “sorry,” as if saying it will undo the hurt or repair the distance. But “sorry” doesn’t always reach the places where the damage sits. Sometimes the hardest part of love is knowing that the words we need — the ones that could heal — are the ones that never arrive.

This performance is my way of giving voice to that feeling: the longing, the honesty, and the ache of wanting closeness with people who remain out of reach.
